How to train your dragon

It's wednesday! Woo, halfway through the week! It'll be over before you know it, and then, weekend!
So what have I done today? Well, I've applied for a job at hmv, which I hope I get, I could really use some money...
And then I watched how to train your dragon.
I've noticed that as I get older, the films that are meant for kids are seeming even better than they were when I was young. About a week ago I watched the lion king again. It was awesome! And so was how to train your dragon, for the following reasons:

  • It was funny. While there weren't any actual jokes, there were loads of little bits that were happening that I couldn't help but giggle at like a little child. Especially the bit with the fitting of the tail. That bit made me laugh a lot!
  • It was original. I can honestly say I've never seen a film based on a war between dragons and vikings, where a young boy learns all about them and how to train them. I thought that was brilliant. There are a lot of films that are very similar to each other. Which kind of annoys me. The reason I liked avatar so much was because of the originality.
  • It was a nice story. Simple as.
  • It was a good animation. Most animations are terrible. I wasn't a fan of finding nemo. Or a lot of these other newer ones. But this one was different.
  • The cast was brilliant. Gerard Butler as Stoick was brilliant. In fact, they all suited their parts perfectly. Which was enjoyable. Like in some films, the actors don't really work for the part. In this they do.
So out of 10, I'd give this film an 8, and I would definitely recommend that you watch it!

In case you hadn't noticed, I just did a simple review. I hope you take my advise. I was going to review the new linkin park album, but I dont have it, and spotify only lets paying members listen to it... I know this wasn't a brilliant review, but I had to watch it on the internet, and wasn't making notes. When I do my harry potter and the deathly hallows part 1 review, I'll make sure to make notes throughout, to make sure it's a good overview.

So, I might try to get another post up before I go to be, but otherwise I'll get one up tomorrow!
Thanks for reading!

  5. Plus point number 6: Toothless is downright adorable, as well as being a character within himself rather then just 'the dragon that the kid trains'
    (:
